Epoch of Primal Harmony
The Sixty-Four Foundations
Caissora is born from flawless mathematics
At the beginning of time, the world of Caissora knew neither discord nor decay. It rested upon the unshakable foundation of perfect geometry — the sacred fabric of sixty-four squares, where every ray of light, every stone and stream of water obeyed the laws of absolute harmony.
The greatest inhabitants of this world — the Caissorans — were more than thinkers or mages. They were living embodiments of the highest strategic intellect, architects of space who could raise floating observatories, vaulted libraries and impregnable bastions with a movement of thought. Each Caissoran guarded an aspect of the World Law: from the untamable flexibility of tidal waters to the unyielding stillness of mountain ridges.
“The board was no battlefield, but the breath of creation. There was no chance within it — only the flawless order of forms.”
The Great Distortion
The Infinite Formula and the Birth of Chaos
When reason tried to imprison living existence in an absolute formula
Seeking to raise the world of Caissora to absolute perfection, the council of elder Caissorans conceived the impossible: to derive a Unified Mathematical Model of All Creation — a formula capable of predicting every move of fate, eliminating error and granting the world eternal immutability.
They joined their powers in the Hall of Celestial Spheres. Yet unpredictability is woven into the very nature of the world. In their attempt to calculate infinity down to the final half-move, the formula overloaded the matrix of reality. A colossal resonance followed: the sacred geometry cracked.
Instead of eternal order, Primal Chaos — the Fracture — was born in a blinding burst of rupture. The earth split open, the domes of ancient observatories collapsed, waterfalls poured into underground archives, and the sky shattered into fragments of starry mist.
“We sought truth without flaw, but forgot that living fire cannot be bound within a frozen crystal. And the board answered us with a storm.”
The Great Scattering
The Fall of the Caissorans and the Birth of the Forlorns
The loss of names and the tragedy of oblivion
The catastrophe severed the bonds between the inhabitants of Caissora. Proud castles became moss-covered ruins, swallowed by wild thickets and rivers. Many Caissorans entered suspended animation, sealing themselves within stone sarcophagi and ancient altars in the hope of awakening.
But the most terrible fate befell those whose faith in mathematics had been crushed by Chaos. Bereft of their foundations, they lost all memory of who they had been. Their names dissolved into entropy, their light faded, and their pieces became distorted. Thus the Forlorns appeared — amnesiac shadows of former greatness.
They wander the rifts and abandoned arenas, tormented by the phantom pain of perfect calculations, attacking every mind they encounter with blind and furious combinations.
“They remember the weight of the queen and the fury of the rook, but have forgotten why they stood upon the board. Their salvation lies only in the clear lesson of pure logic.”
The New Era
The Call of the Citadel and the Arrival of the Wanderer
The rebirth of the ancient castle and its sanctuaries
When it seemed that Caissora would remain engulfed in chaos and oblivion forever, a light began to glow at the heart of the world. The ancient Citadel — the monumental stone castle of the first architects — awakened and sent its silent call across the boundaries of dimensions.
That call summoned the Wanderer. Passing through the castle gates, the Wanderer steps onto a spacious central plaza, where an ancient stone pedestal rises with a shattered chessboard upon it. Around the plaza stand the abandoned wings of the castle — the Spire of Mentors, the Archives, the Forge and the Armory — sunk in an age-long sleep.
Step by step, the Wanderer must restore the sixty-four sacred squares on the central pedestal and rebuild the ruined structures of the castle, awakening the sleeping Caissorans and healing the Forlorns through the clear language of chess harmony.
“Every cleansed square of the altar and every restored vault of the castle is a step toward healing the world. You came not merely to play, but to bring our home back to life.”
